FENTON -- Forty lucky dogs abandoned by several midwestern puppy mills have safely arrived in Fenton.

Local and regional rescue groups helped welcome the dogs into the area and they are ready to shower them with long-overdue cuddles, doggie treats and lots of love.

The dogs were found living in deplorable conditions.

The rescue and transport effort was made possible by a Utah-based "Best Friends Animal Society".
