First week of testimony wraps up Friday
FLINT -- After calling more than two dozen witnesees in the first two days of the Elias Abuelazam murder trial, the prosecution slowed the pace on day three, focusing on DNA evidence they say links multiple victims to the accused serial killer.
Abuelazam is on trial for the August 2010 murder of Arnold Minor on Saginaw Street in Flint.
Kristin Schelling of the Michigan State Police Forensic Science Division testified that DNA from Minor and another stabbing victim matched blood found on Abuelazam's belongings.
The other victim, Frank Kellybrew, was stabbed to death in the early morning hours of July 30, 2010, near Lennon and Miller Roads.
Dr. Allecia Wilson of the Genesee County Medical Examiner's Office took the stand for the second time, and this time testified that Kellybrew's stab wounds were similar to Minor's stab wounds.
The first week of testimony wraps up on Friday.
Testimony will not be heard Monday, as both the prosecution and defense get the chance to make motions in front of Judge Judy Fullerton.
