Fenton Fire Hall is being converted into a new restaurant

The Crust Bakery in downtown Fenton hopes to draw more people inside its doors by investing outside in it's fascade. Fenton's Downtown Development Authority is helping. It is reimbursing the business over $37,000 for making improvements. The Crust is only a few months old but already has a number of regulars.

The DDA believes small business owners will provide a bright future for Fenton and that's why officials are excited about the investment at the Old Fenton Fire Hall. A group, who also owns the Union General, is converting it into a restaurant and has a history of turning unique buildings into successful eateries.

Michael Burns, the assistant city manager, say money spent downtown will have a ripple effect. Folks in the area could even see increases in the value of their homes with further downtown development.

The city also says it renewed it's agreement with it's marketing firm- New Visions of Milford. The city's agreement sets aside money for promoting the artwalk and Silver Parkways Rewards Program.
