In rural Isabella County, an 8 year old boy was killed in a traffic accident.

The Isabella County sheriff's department says Benjamin Marks of Shepherd died following the Sunday evening crash in Chippewa Township, north of Lansing. S

everal family members were injured when the vehicle they were riding in pulled into the path of a utility truck owned by Consumers Energy.

Sheriffs deputies say a Mercury Mountaineer was driven by a 46-year-old woman. Beside Benjamin, 3 other children and a 36-year-old woman were also in the vehicle.

A 2-year-old also received a head injury. The department says the SUV was stopped for a stop sign before pulling into the path of the Consumers Energy truck.

Benjamin was airlifted to a hospital in Saginaw, where he was pronounced dead. Others injured were taken to a Mount Pleasant hospital.
