MT. PLEASANT -- The family of Carnel Chamberlain will continue it's fight against child abuse even after the boy's death.

A memorial fund is being created in Chamberlain's name, one devoted to fight child abuse and domestic violence.

Chamberlain's family says people can make donations to various programs or contribute by purchasing t-shirts and other merchandise.

A memorial service for Carnel will be held this Sunday, July 15 at 2 p.m. at the Soaring Eagle Casino Concert Hall

The boy's body was found last month buried under a wood porch at his home on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation.

He had been in the care of his mother's boyfriend, Anthony Bennett. Bennett is being charged with assaulting the boy before he was reported missing but has not been charged in Carnel's death.
