Widespread powerful storms producing winds in excess of 60 mph have done damage across several counties of the NBC25 viewing area.

There have been reports of numerous large limbs, some trees and power lines down along with numerous outages in northern Bay, Gladwin and Clare counties.

Flash flood warnings were also posted for Gladwin and Clare counties as well during the overnight hours.

As of 12:30am, numerous counties in Mid-Michigan were under severe thunderstorm warnings as storms moved southeast through the Tri-Cities and will eventially impact the I-69 corridor by early morning.

A severe thunderstorm watch was in effect until 2 a.m. for areas north and west of the Tri-cities.

The NWS has also issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Tri-cities, the thumb and Genesee County that expired at 5 a.m.

Our road warrior Mike McManaman shot some video while driving down Dort Highway near Clio road early Thursday morning.  The video above shows heavy rain, winds and lightning.
