Free family fun on August 6
Raffles for bikes and backpacks filled with school supplies; face painting and other family fun is being provided by Target in Flint on August 6.
Its all part of the 29th National Night Out, a national crime and drug prevention program. The community event will be held in downtown Flint on the grounds behind the City Hall complex Monday, Aug. 6 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
According to a Flint Target team leader, the event includes live entertainment, a bounce house, free ice cream and other snacks. Displays by various law enforcement agencies as well as Flint Fire Department’s “smokehouse” safety demonstration will be shown. There will be a local performing artist, business and neighborhood table displays, and more.
This year’s local co-sponsors include the City of Flint, Flint Police Department, Flint Fire Department, Police Athletic League, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint, Mott Community College, University of Michigan-Flint, Flint Children’s Museum, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint, and others.
