A park ranger is commended for saving a man's life at Genesee Township's Warrior Dash on July 29.

The Genesee County parks and recreation commission issued a citation to Matthew Hyde who found a 55-year old man face down in the mud near the finish line of the Warrior Dash.

Hyde cleared the man's airway and assisted emergency responders.

Experts say without Hyde's help the victim would not have been revived.

The victim made a full recovery.
