FLINT -- Crews responded to a strucutre fire this morning around the intersection of Court Street and Miller Road.  The structure is across from the Michigan School for the Deaf.

The area near Court and Miller has been blocked off by officials for several hours while they extinguished the flames.

Neighbors told NBC25 that a family of eight lived in the house but had moved out and were fixing it up to rent out.  The building was vacant at the time of the fire.

Officials are unsure how the fire started and there were no damage to any adjacent buildings.  Ten people from nearby buildings were evacuated.
