A manhunt is underway for an inmate who escaped from a Tuscola County facility.

In the air and on land, using a team of officers and a K-9 unit, police are looking for 22 year old Thomas Howard. He was arrested for drug distribution in Wayne County and serving time at the Tuscola Residential Recovery Reentry Program, when he escaped on Monday. The Caro post of the Michigan State police are coordinating the search. Residents around the facility in Indianfield Township are being notified on the phone that Howard is on the run. He is a white male, around 5 feet 4 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue pants with a possible orange or red stripe and white tennis shoes.

If you see Howard, call 9-1-1.
