MONTROSE TWP -- A man is in custody after an incident at the Riverside Mobile Home Park in Montrose Township on Saturday.

Police continue to investigate why he was armed and barricaded himself in a trailer.  It's now being reported that the man's child, a three-month old, died earlier in the week.

Officials say the man made threats to his girlfriend who then called police just before 5 p.m.

The Michigan State SWAT team responded along with Montrose Twp Police, Genesee County Sheriff, Michigan State Police and the Montrose Fire Department.

They were able to eventually get the man to come out of the home.

Farrand Road was closed leading into the mobile home park and some residents were unable to get into their homes for a few hours.

Police are interviewing the suspect about the incident.

No injuries are reported.
