You may now smell Cajun cuisine in Buena Vista as a brand new Popeyes opened their doors.
The ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening was held on Monday, and people patiently waited to enter.
The restaurant sits on the Old Fort Saginaw Mall site. It is the first commercial business to be built there in 25 years.
Popeyes brings more than 80 new jobs to the area and owner Earl Pegues said he hopes to keep business in Saginaw County. "So many people are driving to Flint once or twice a week, just to get Popeyes. I started looking into it and decided to do it," said Pegues.
The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to Midnight seven days a week.
