CLAYTON TOWNSHIP (AP) -- ****Update****

Flint-area police say a 17-year old boy was punching and shoving his mother and sister when his father fatally shot him.

Clayton Township police Chief Scott Pavlik says the shooting happened around 1:15 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators say the boy was allegedly arguing with his mother when he began to act violently.  Pavlik says the 64-year-old father heard the fight and left his bedroom with a .45-calibur handgun, then shot the teen once in the abdomen.

Police say they have had a lot of contact with the teen in regards to his behavior.

The father is jailed on open murder and firearms charges.  His name is not being released.
