FLINT -- U.A.W. officials say if workers cannot come to an agreement in 30 days, Flint Truck Assembly will be shut down.

A Truck Assembly worker tells NBC25 a letter was given out to employees Thursday afternoon encouraging them to come to a UAW meeting Sunday, February 15 at 3:00 p.m. at the Whiting Auditorium in Flint.

A letter was sent out to employees stating, "We are inviting everyone in our workforce, hourly and salary and their families who are concerned about the future of Flint Assembly," however now the U.A.W. is stating only union members can attend this meeting.  According to officials, everyone at the meeting will be required to show their union identification in order to enter the Whiting Auditorium.

The worker tells NBC25 if the U.A.W. does not come to an agreement in the next month, all work will be sent to the Pontiac plant until further notice.

There are over 2,000 workers employed at the Flint Truck and Bus Assembly plant on VanSlyke Rd.

NBC25 will keep you informed as we learn more.
