BAY CITY (AP) -- A Michigan dentist who collects dried butterflies is charged with failing to tell the government about imports from other countries.

Kevin Rucinski of Roscommon County recently was charged with a misdemeanor in federal court in Bay City.

Tom Tidwell of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service says the form is routine paperwork that people must fill out when they bring wildlife into the U.S.

Rucinski says the government took butterflies from his home and office, even ones collected as a boy. The 49-year-old admits he didn't do the paperwork in 2006 when he acquired butterflies from other countries.

Rucinski tells The Bay City Times he doesn't "want to have anything to do with butterflies anymore." No court date has been set.
