FLINT -- The Hurley Diabetes Center gave diabetic patients a chance to get some extra screenings Wednesday.
People who turned out for the even were able to get many tests including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, kidney tests, and foot screenings.
Hurley also offered resources to make sure people with diabetes stay as healthy as possible.
"Overall, it's just a really good day for patients with diabetes that have never had some of these exams done before to get them done," said podiatrist Shawn Reiser.
Diabetes is the fifth deadliest disease in the United States today.
More than 1.5 million people are diagnosed every year.
