FLINT -- It’s a busy weekend for holiday travel and Mother Nature is causing problems for flyers.  Storms on the east coast grounded planes, causing a domino effect of delays.

Traveler Michelle Malone tells NBC25 News it’s a similar situation at Bishop International Airport. “It has been rough; my flight has been delayed both times coming in and flying out,” said Malone.

Traveler Anthony Ruiz agreed.  “The flight from Tampa, a city that had no snow is 1 hour 20 minutes late,” said Mr. Ruiz.

It's the time of year when travelers have no guarantees that they will get from point A to point B, and have to exercise a little patience.

“I’m very impatient, were just delayed because of a Tampa flight was delayed for some reason,” said traveler Amanda Pirtle.

Others exercise creativity to pass the time.

“I’m fine , I’ve had good company to pass the time with,” said Mr. Ruiz.

Airline officials are asking all travelers to check the status of their flights by going online before  heading to the airport.
