The Bay City Times reports Monday will be the first Monday Bay City's Fire Station Five will be closed for good.

It's been temporarily closed in the past, but last Friday the doors closed permanently.

Budget cuts and layoffs prevented the station from continuing.

Bay City now has just one fire station on the west side.
