(AP) -- LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land says motorists can support the U.S. Olympic team in the 2010 Winter Games by buying specially designed license plates. The games in Vancouver, British Columbia, begin Friday. Land's office says the Olympic plate costs $35, with $25 going to the U.S. Olympic Education Center at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. An additional $10 charged when plates are renewed also goes to the center.

Student athletes train at the Northern Michigan center, about 360 miles northwest of Detroit in the state's Upper Peninsula. It's one of four Olympic training centers in the nation.

Plates can be ordered at any Secretary of State branch office, by mail or fax, and at the center.
