Saginaw's Child Abuse and Neglect Council is gearing up for it's 17th annual Mardi Gras Auction next week.
The Can Council provides a number of child abuse services in the community such as the Children's Advocacy Center, where children are interviewed about abuse by a trained professional and, the court appointed special advocates or casas who are there to support a child during the court procedures.
The Mardi Gras auction is one of the non-profits' biggest fundraising events.
This years goal is $115,000.
Organizers say you can expect a real mardi gras celebration complete with music, great food, and more than 400 silent auction items including trips, jewelry, and a chance to be the Saginaw Spirit coach for the day.
The Can Council's Mardi Gras auction 2010 will be held next Thursday February 25th from 6-10 p.m. at the Apple Mountain Resort's Grand Ballroom in Freeland. Tickets are $50 dollars per person.
NBC25's Mark Torregrossa and Jenny Suniga will be hosts at the event.
