DETROIT -- Police have released the name of a Detroit officer shot to death while investigating reports of gunfire at a suspected drug house on the city's east side.

Police spokesman John Roach confirms Monday that 42-year-old Brian Huff was one of five officers shot about 3:30 a.m. Huff had been on the police force about 12 years.

Roach says Huff was inside the vacant duplex when he was shot multiple times. He is survived by a wife and 10-year-old son.

Two of the wounded officers still were being treated at a local hospital. The other two have been treated and released.

Police say the 25-year-old suspect also was shot and was being treated for a gunshot wound to the back. He has not been charged.

A .45-caliber handgun and 1 pound of marijuana were recovered at the house.
