BAD AXE (AP) -- The Huron County sheriff says a 19-year-old man was arrested after driving stolen truck to the courthouse for a meeting about his probation.
Sheriff Kelly Hanson says a man reported his pickup truck missing Friday after a break-in at a business. Hanson says Cpl. Alan Herman later saw Joshua Nowiski of Bad Axe park at the county courthouse and suspected him of driving without a license.
Herman waited until Nowiski returned and started driving. Herman checked the license plate, learning the truck was stolen.
Hanson says Herman stopped Nowiski, who ran but was tackled by a resident. Nowiski was arraigned Monday on charges of auto theft, burglary and driving on a suspended license. The sheriff says he doesn't know if Nowiski had a lawyer.
