Congratulations to Sheridan Goss, 8 years old from Bay City. Sheridan is NBC25's Great Kid for the month of May.

Sheridan plays a big role in her community with the American Cancer Society. She helps her mother, Stacy Goss, who is a breast cancer survivor plan Relay for Life events every summer.

"She's on the planning committee, she helps plan the events, gets other kids involved, raises her own money and she goes to school to get donations from teachers and parents all on her own," her mother Stacy said.

When Sheridan was a young girl she remembers helping her father around the house when her mother was sick and going through radiation treatments.

Now she wants to continue helping others.
