GAINES TWP. -- A Gaines Township house went up in flames early Wednesday morning.

The home on the 12000 block of Reid Rd was being renovated.  No one was in the house when it caught fire around 3:30 a.m.

Fire officials are not sure what sparked the blaze, but report the building is a total loss.

Swartz Creek, Venice Twp., Vernon Twp., Mundy, and Gaines Twp. fire departments responded to the scene.
