Donations top $800 by Sunday evening

GRAND BLANC -- Borics Hair Care of Grand Blanc is supporting a good cause and doing it in style.  The salon hosted a cancer benefit to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society--all in honor of one local man.  30-year old David Lyman of Kalamazoo was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and now his goal is to fight back while raising both awareness and funds for research.

"We need money to get rid of cancer, not just my type of cancer, not just a skin cancer. We need all cancer gone," said Lyman.   In the meantime, Borics Hair Care provided haircuts for those who wanted to donate to the cause. A minimum $10 donation was accepted for each hair cut.  The salon will also raffle off a Kia car rental for a weekend.  Donations are also being collected at Big Boy Restaurant of Grand Blanc until Thursday.
