(AP) -- Van Buren Township authorities have released the name of a 14-year-old boy who drowned in Belleville Lake. Annarbor.com identifies him as Casey Farley of Washtenaw County's Ypsilanti Township. Police in the Wayne County community got a call Wednesday to Van Buren Park, about 25 miles west-southwest of Detroit. They say the boy disappeared while swimming with a teenage cousin.

Divers found Casey about 200 feet from shore. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. Lt. Ken Floro tells the Detroit Free Press there are no lifeguards or buoyed area for swimmers in that part of the lake. He says currents in the lake where the Upper Huron River meets the Lower Huron River likely played a factor.
