The Lapeer County Courthouse, Genesee County Courthouses, and Tuscola County Courthouse are all on "high alert" after a letter stated there would be a gun-threat Monday.

The Lapeer County Court staff tells NBC25 a letter was sent Sunday, stating a group would attack the three Mid-Michigan courts.  The letter stated that many people would die from the attack.

All three buildings are on high alert today.  Armed officers have been placed at each courthouse to ensure the safety of civillians and employees.  Business is continuing as normal at the time.

Anyone with information on this threat is asked to call police immediately.
