Millions of dollars have been spent on TV ads so far in the race for governor, according to a non-partisan organization.  Officials with the Michigan Campaign Finance Network said Republican businessman Rick Snyder spent $1.5 million since early February.

He launched his campaign with an ad airing during the Super Bowl.  Attorney General Mike Cox spent $1.2 million so far.

U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra spent only $6,000 to date, but remains ahead in most polls.  On the Democratic side, House Speaker Andy Dillon spent more than $300,000 in the Detroit-area on TV ads.  Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero has not launched any TV ads as of yet.
