An annual motorcycle and classic car ride will help make a dream come true for a 13-year-old girl in remission after battling cancer.

Rebekah Harbin from Swartz Creek survived bone cancer, a femur transplant, and then a heart transplant needed after chemotherapy destroyed her heart.

Now she would like to thank the family of the woman who donated her heart in person.

The 6th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cure fundraiser will help pay for her family to take a trip to meet that family in person. It will also help the family catch up on bills.

It will take place on Saturday, August 14, 2010.  Folks are invited to participate in a 40-mile classic car and motorcycle ride from the Shiawassee Harley Davidson in Birch Run to the Durand Eagles Club.

Sign in for the ride will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Shiawassee Harley Davidson.   A benefit party will follow the ride at the Durand Eagles Club. Everyone is invited to enjoy live bands, BBQ, and a silent auction.

The donation requested for the ride is $15 per driver and $10 per passenger.
