SAGINAW CO. -- Freeland High School 10th grade English teacher Marcie Rousseau will stand trial for allegedly having sex with at least one of her students.
Reports say the 33 year old had sex with a student more than 100 times over the course of several months.
Thursday, the alleged victim described the many times and places where he and the teacher had sexual relations. The now 17 year old said he became suspicious that Rousseau was cheating on him, and it was at that point he decided to come forward with the truth.
The boy’s father is Lt. John Card with leads the Michigan State Police Bay City Post. He says he became suspicious of the situation when a vehicle was in his garage when he returned home from work one day. He says the teenager wasn’t allowed to have friends over when the parents weren’t home, and told his son the visitor had to leave. He did not see the visitor, though, and cannot be completely sure it was Rousseau.
Lt. Card continued to explain numerous situations in which he believed his son had been either sneaking to a girl’s home, or having a girl over without the parent’s knowledge.
Finally, Lt. Card decided he and the boy’s mother were going to find out who the girl was and visit her parents. When he told his son about this, Lt. Card said the boy stated, “Dad, you can't it's my teacher.”
Rousseau rested a knee up on the edge of the table and leaned forward as the witnesses gave their accounts Thursday morning.
Judge A.T. Frank ordered her to stand trial on all 21 criminal sexual conduct counts.
Rousseau also faces charges in Midland County where the teen says more sexual encounters occurred. She has a preliminary hearing in Midland County on Aug. 12 for those charges.
