FLINT -- NBC25 is following developing news as the search continues for the man stabbing men in Genesee County, killing five.

Take a close look at this sketch.

Police say this man has stabbed more than a dozen men in Flint Township, Genesee Township, Flint, and Burton.

Police say his victims are mostly black men walking alone at night.

Early Saturday morning someone stabbed a man near McLaren Hospital in Flint.

That victim is in critical condition.

Police say they have evidence it could be the serial killer, but they're not for certain.

And neighbors near McLaren say they're fed up with the violence, and are banning together to try and stop it.

“I’m shocked, terrible," said Flint Resident Bill Kitsonas.

"Frightening," said Flint Resident Donna Kennedy.

Residents near McLaren Hospital in Flint are on high alert, after a man is found stabbed near the medical center.

"Stay in my house, keep my doors locked, and watch people go by," said Kennedy

At about 2:30 Saturday morning, Flint Police say the victim was stabbed near the emergency room at McLaren Hospital off of Ballenger Highway.

A hospital staff member says security found the victim lying on the ground in this general area, he then took a wheelchair out and brought him into the hospital.

The victim was airlifted to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, he is in critical condition.

Flint Police say they don't know his identity, but describe him as a black man in his 40's, about 180 pounds, and six feet tall.

Flint residents say they're fed up with the violence going on in their neighborhood.

"Very uneasy about it, this neighborhood is fairly safe," said Kitsonas.

This week residents of Glendale Hills created a neighborhood watch.

"Just watching people go by and making sure they are not doing anything, being aware of all the activities," said Kennedy.

Whether it’s through the vigilant eyes of community members, or by law enforcement tracking leads, Flint residents say they're optimistic the person responsible for Saturday’s stabbing will be caught.

"I think they are going to catch him this week, I really do," said Kitsonas.

If this stabbing is connected to the serial killer, it will make the 14th victim since May.

Michigan State Police say this Monday their task force will hold a press conference about their next move.
