The construction of a new Menards store is underway in Davison Township. The store is being built at the corner of Court and Irish Roads. Township officials say it will be the largest commercial development in the 34-square mile township. The new store is expected to be completed for a March 2011 opening.

Residents in and around the area are looking forward to the job growth and the addition to the township.

"I think we can gage the excitement basically on the amount of phone calls I get from residents almost daily," Township Supervisor Kurt Soper said. "They are pretty excited about the prospect of having that kind of store nearby and here at the township, it's part of the DDA so it will enhance that."
