(AP) -- LEESBURG, Va. - Top prosecutors building a case against a serial stabbing suspect in Michigan and Virginia say they are cooperating but have never actually talked.
Elias Abuelazam is suspected in a string of 13 Michigan attacks, including five that were fatal, as well as three attacks in Virginia and one in Ohio.
More than two weeks ago, police linked three attacks on black men in Leesburg, Va., with a string of stabbings in Flint.
In Virginia, Loudoun County Commonwealth's Attorney Jim Plowman says he hasn't gotten a call back from David Leyton, the Genesee County prosecutor.
A spokesman for Leyton says the Michigan prosecutor wasn't aware of any calls from Plowman.
Genesee County prosecutor's spokesman John Potbury says not working together is unacceptable.
