LANSING (AP) -- New leaders continue to emerge in the Michigan Legislature.
Sen. Randy Richardville of Monroe was chosen Tuesday as Senate majority leader for the legislative session starting in January. He will replace term-limited Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop.
Rep. James "Jase" Bolger of Marshall is likely in line to become the new House speaker as Republicans regain control of the chamber. Republicans were to have their election later Tuesday.
Senate Democrats already have picked Sen. Gretchen Whitmer of East Lansing to be their leader starting in 2011.
House Democrats also are expected to pick their next leader Tuesday. Term-limited House Speaker Andy Dillon will be joining Republican Gov.-elect Rick Snyder's administration.
