(AP) -- Michelle Obama is honoring two Michigan public libraries at a White House ceremony. The first lady will present the 2010 National Medal for Museum and Library Service to five libraries and five museums from across the nation on Friday.

Peter White Public Library in Marquette, Mich., and West Bloomfield Township Public Library are among the recipients. Winners are chosen based on their innovative approaches to public service and improving communities.
