BAY CITY -- A Bay City woman will spend up to 13 years behind bars for stealing money from a Korean War Veteran who was in a coma.

Bay County Prosecuting Attorney Kurt Asbury says 58 year old Pearl Evans was hired to take care of the elderly man.  Over a period of several months, including the nine months the victim was in a coma prior to his death, she stole money from him. 

Thursday, Pearl was convicted of one count of Embezzlement from a vulnerable adult as a Fourth Offense Habitual Offender.
