MARION TWP. -- A firefighter is struggling to recover after falling off the roof of a barn while battling a massive fire Thursday morning.

Around 8:00 am, a barn located at 19623 Marion Road in Brant caught fire.

Crews were battling the blazes when a firefighter slipped off the top of the 8 foot roof and fell to the ground.

He was taken by ambulance to the hospital for head and shoulder injuries.  The injured firefighter was alert when they transported him, but there's no word yet on his condition.

Crews are still investigating what may have sparked the flames. The barn is a total loss.
