The Midland Daily News reports they made the find Saturday afternoon in Edenville Township.

Search crews will resume efforts Monday morning in the Tittabawassee River.  They are still working to find Edenville Township resident Bob Cole, who has been missing now for six days.

Rescue crews made a tragic find as they searched for the Meridian track and field coach Saturday.

The Midland Daily News reports they found Bob Cole’s 2-year-old yellow lab named Joe, dead on top of broken chunks of ice in an area of the frigid Tittabawassee River not yet searched by divers.  The dog was found in Edenville Township about one mile from where divers have focused their search near Curtis and Water Roads.

Police have not yet found Mr. Cole

They believe he fell in the river while trying to catch his family’s dog Tuesday.

Michigan State Police dive teams, the Midland County Sheriff’s office, Edenville, and Billings Township fire departments are working together in the search for Mr. Cole.  Numerous volunteers have also given their time in the search.
