FLINT -- An irate parent bypassed security, and punched a substitute teacher in Flint Monday.

Flint Public Schools Spokesman Bob Campbell tells NBC25 the mother was upset over the way her child was disciplined, so she barged into Carpenter Road Elementary School.

The woman bypassed the front desk where visitors are required to check in, and went to the classroom where the long-term substitute teacher was instructing a fifth grade class.

While in front of students, the parent punched the teacher.  Fortunately, the teacher was not seriously hurt.

Bob Campbell states this is an isolated incident, and the students were never in any danger. He states that Flint schools have security measures in place, and because of those measures the situation was handled immediately.

The incident has been reported to police.
