Michigan soldier honored four decades after his death

A Michigan soldier is being remembered over four decades after he went missing.

 

According to the Associated Press, Army Staff Sgt. Melvin Dye of Carleton and two others died when their helicopter was shot down in Laos in 1968.

 

In 2009, excavators found the crash site.

 

According to the Times Union, an Army honor guard carries the remains of Staff Sgt. Melvin Dye , Staff Sgt. Robert Griffith, and Sgt. 1st Class Douglas Glover during a memorial service at Arlington National Cemetery Tuesday.
