Saginaw & Genesee Co. receive funding to help house the homeless

Saginaw and Flint are getting aid from theU.S. Housing and Urban Development to help the area’s homeless.
It’s part of a state-wide $4.7 million program that will help twenty-one Michigan agencies.
The Flint/Genesee County Continuum of Care is receiving over $663,000 of the grant money. The Saginaw County Youth Protection Council will get $134,212 in help.
HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan says, “this funding will make a significant impact in the lives of thousands of people and provide resources to put them on the road of independence.”
