Life saving weather radios

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, otherwise known as NOAA, has a weather radio that will not only keep you informed of severe weather around the clock, but also inform you about natural disasters and public safety announcements like AMBER alerts.

The radio plugs into any outlet, but still needs batteries in case of a power outage event. The technology on the newest radios have come a long way, and even includes inputs for strobe lights for the hearing impaired. With the new weather radio you can get rid of unwanted watches or warnings. This new system allows you to input which counties you would like to receive alerts.

One of the transmitters that covers a good portion of mid-michigan is located on our tower in the backyard of the NBC 25 station.

NBC 25 has teamed up with ABC Warehouse to help you set up your weather radio, and they are available at a promotional price through the end of the storm season.
