TRAVERSE CITY -- The court hearings have begun for the teen accused of stabbing missing Traverse City Teen, Carly Lewis, to death.

NBC25’s sister station, 7&4 News, reports the preliminary hearings against Robert Jensen Schwander, 17, have begun in the Traverse City courts.

A forensic pathologist testified that Lewis was stabbed ten times, and the nearly 5-inch deep slash to the neck is what killed her.

Lewis had been missing for several weeks before her body was discovered at a Public Works Building on June 14th.

Schwander, the son of a sheriff’s deputy, admitted to killing Lewis, but claimed it was an accident. However, he later pleaded “not guilty” in court.

NBC25 is working with our sister station in Traverse City to get the latest information on this case.
