Athletes from around the globe will brave the blistering cold in South Korea for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Wednesday, the International Olympic Committee announced that the city of Pyeongchang won the host home land for the 23^rd annual games.

Two previous attempts, in 2010 and 2014, at hosting the competition slipped through South Korea’s grasps.

Pyongchang beat out Munich and Annecy, France for the 2018 rivalries.
