St. Charles teen dies in car crash, funeral arrangements announced

A single vehicle accident killed 18-year-old Brandon Walker of St. Charles Saturday morning around 11:40 a.m.  Walker, who is a Swan Valley High School graduate, was heading west on Townline Rd. in Saginaw County's Brant Township when he left the road and hit a tree. Investigators say he was unresponsive when they arrived on the scene.

Swan Valley High School and faculty gathered at a memorial service Saturday evening for Walker at Holy Spirit Church in Brant Township.

According to an obituary for Walker, he played baseball and football for Swan Valley and was planning to attend college in the fall at Ferris State University where he planned to major in Criminal Justice.  The obituary also says Walker volunteered at the Saginaw Children's Museum and enjoyed spending his time helping kids in the youth football league.

The funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Saginaw. Friends can visit with the family at W. L. Case and Company Funeral in Saginaw this Tuesday from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m.There will be a vigil service held there at 7:00 p.m.

Those wishing to express sympathy can consider a donation to the Swan Valley Athletic Association in Brandon's memory.

Case & Company on Miller Rd., Tuesday from 2:00 – 9:00 p.m. where they may join the family for a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. and at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the Swan Valley Athletic Association in Brandon’s memory.
