NEW JERSEY -- A 42-year old mother is trying to become the world’s fattest woman.

According to Donna Simpson’s online profile, she weighs about 600 pounds, but instead of trying to lose weight, she’s trying to gain 400 more pounds in an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for heaviest woman on earth. She already holds the Guinness record for heaviest woman to give birth.

Simpson is a plus-size model for Supersizedbombshells.com, but she hopes to make it to 1,000 pounds in order to set the new record.

The Daily Mail  reports Simpson spends about $750 a week on groceries and eats about 12,000 calories a day.

While Simpson claims she’s happy and healthy, there are many medical dangers to this type of lifestyle. WebMD reports obesity can cause severe emotional distresses in addition to increasing the risk for diabetes, heart problems, and a myriad of other potentially deadly health problems.

You can read her full interview with the Daily Mail on what led her to this quest by clicking here.
