BAY COUNTY -- A pit bull that mauled a 7-year-old girl will be put down Monday.
The dog, named Rott, attacked the little girl earlier this month at a home on South Jefferson in Bay City. She was feeding the dog when it latched onto her face, and dragged her. The injuries were so bad that she needed reconstructive surgery.
In an unrelated incident, a Bay County man is also being charged Monday after his pit bull attacked a 9-year-old boy in January. Harry McDaniel took a plea deal in May. In exchange for the deal, he’ll serve two years probation and 90-days in jail. He is expected to be sentenced Wednesday morning in that case.
These incidents have led Bay County Commissioner Ernie Krygier to move forward with plans on tightening the dog ordinances, just as Saginaw did recently with their Dangerous Dog Ordinance.
Do you think these two pit bull attacks prove that Bay County needs a Dangerous Dog Ordinance?
