Flint police are taking extra steps to protect themselves from the public.

Crews are installing bullet-proof glass inside the lobby of the police station this weekend.

Electronic locks and additional surveillance cameras are also going in.

The$60,000 federally funded project was approved earlier this year.

This comes six months after four officers were shot at a Detroit police station.
