Lawmakers talk about giving teachers a choice with a union

The Michigan Senate majority leader says republican leaders will move to eliminate the state law requiring school employees to belong to unions.

Randy Richardville of Monroe says he does not want to make Michigan a right-to-work state saying it won't help the ecomony.

However, he says the Michigan Education Association is standing in the way of education improvements.

The teachers' union says the measure is political payback from its recall efforts of Rick Snyder and Paul Scott.

It says it's a personal attack on education.
