An invasive insect could wipe out ash trees at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Officials there say the emerald ash borer has infested up to 90% of the ash trees on the lakeshore's mainland in the northwest Lower Peninsula.
While they're considering their options to control the insect, the outlook is bleak.
Experts say 80% of the infestations in Michigan resulted from people moving firewood despite warnings against it.
